Is Your Loved One Anxious?

June 2, 2020 · Leave a Comment

Kayla Cook, owner of Caring Excellence, says, “Anxiety in the elderly is usually based on a fear that may be from a false perception or have a real basis. As people age they feel more vulnerable due to their decreased physical strength and inability to care for themselves.” Kayla suggests comforting them by providing a consistent caregiver, as that builds a bond of trust; provide positive reinforcement about finances, medications, or other important matters; and monitor the news and TV shows they watch as these can often plant seeds of anxiety.

P.S. Use these tips if you’re struggling with anxiety during COVID-19.
