August in Louisville sizzles with excitement! From the Kentucky State Fair to breakfast at the zoo, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Swing into the month with the Louisville Jazz Festival happening August 1-2. This festival at Iroquois Amphitheater is the place to catch the smooth sets of Najee and Brian Simpson. Enjoy a lovely evening out listening to cool music in the warm air.
On August 3, gather up the grandkids and start a fun day at the Louisville Zoo with Breakfast with the Beasts. Tickets include a hot breakfast featuring a waffle bar (Belgian waffles and toppings, sausage links, fresh-brewed coffee, orange juice, and ice water) plus parking and admission for a full day at the zoo.

August means it’s time for the Kentucky State Fair! From August 14-24, head to the Exposition Center for fun rides, crafts, and competitions — and of course, the best deep-fried treats Kentucky has to offer. Spend a weekend or afternoon checking out the animal shows, agricultural exhibits, and music performances. Purchase tickets online and check out the schedule to pick the best day for your visit.
Ladies, don’t miss the Bourbon Women SIPposium (Aug 13-17) offering tastings, speakers, and all things wonderfully whiskey. Part industry conference, part girls’ weekend, and part family reunion, SIPosium brings the magic of more than 500 bourbon-loving women in the room together. Check out their website for tickets and different package prices.
