For many, this is a time of celebration, food, and family. Choose from these festive events to help get you in the holiday spirit and make memories to last!
Holiday lights are lighting up all over Louisville, and the first to sparkle are on Bardstown Road with the 40th Annual Bardstown Road Aglow on Dec. 6. Beginning at noon, this festive event is a great way to support local businesses in the Highlands. Enjoy shopping and eating until 10pm — and don’t forget to grab a special holiday drink. Also on Dec. 6, Light Up Louisville will be shining from 3pm-9pm. Be sure to tell Santa what you want for the holidays, stop by the market, and enjoy the live entertainment.

Just “glow with the flow” (yes, I said it) with even more light displays at Kentucky Kingdom and the Louisville Zoo during selected dates in December. Kentucky Kingdom boasts over 1.5 million lights and over 300 Christmas trees! There’s even a 175-foot-long hill covered in real snow you can tube down. Then get family and friends together to experience a Beary Happy Holiday at the Zoo, with an exciting month-long scavenger hunt and festive activities and prizes.

If you’re in the mood for gift hunting at a good holiday market, Made Market is hosting their holiday bazaar at Mellwood Dec. 5-6. Then Paristown’s Fête De Noël runs through the beginning of January and features an outdoor ice skating rink, a trackless train, and a holiday market with local vendors.
Last but not least, if you’re tired of walking in the winter weather, explore the indoor magic of Louisville’s classic Lights Under Louisville in the Megacavern. With over 7 million lights, themed displays, and holiday music, you can pack up your family, friends, and hot cocoa while you stay cozy in your car.
