Kick off your month with a good beer in a good museum at the 6th Annual Summer Beer Fest at the Frazier on August 1. With more than 250 specialty beers, food vendors, and live music, this festival would make a great date night or group outing with friends.
If jazz music is your jam, then you’ll love the Louisville Jazz Festival held at Iroquois Amphitheater on August 7-8. Performers include Boney James, Marcus Miller, Avery Sunshine, and more.
Fun for the family
Looking for a good old-fashioned picnic the whole family can enjoy? Check out this year’s 177th picnic at St. Joseph Children’s Home August 7-8. The great lawn will be full of excitement and activity packed with food, games, raffles, and live music. All this fun and good time supports a great cause.
If you’re ready for the chill of fall, you can get into the spooky season early at Caulfield‘s Creepfest the weekend of August 8-9. This family-friendly event features 80 vendors, haunted attractions, spooky-themed merch, and food trucks and costumes galore. Find a funny Halloween costume early this year, or just enjoy an event that’s outside the ordinary.

The Kentucky State Fair is bringing the concerts, animals, rides, and fair food favorites from August 20-30. Take a peek at the fair website and see which events you and your family or friends want to check out.
Don’t forget local favorites Waterfront Wednesdays, Louisville Zoo Cinema Safari on August 14, and Bats games at Slugger Field – all wonderful ways to end the summer with a home run.
