I love a lazy river.
You are floating without doing anything at all.
You are wet enough to be cool.
You can see changing scenery along the way.
You are unable to make things go faster or slower, so you accept where you are.
To me, it’s the definition of relaxing.
Accepting where you are despite the circumstances and allowing yourself to notice happy, beautiful things along the way — that is relaxing.
We interviewed local people who find meaning in their everyday work, volunteer to change lives, start days on a paddleboard, find rituals and rhythms, and share their summer toys. Open these pages and get inspired to have fun this summer — and hopefully find your own way to relax.
